Balanced Mike and Phantom Power?

Hi all and thank you for allowing me as a member of this forum. I have Beringher XM2000S microphone wich could work very well for interviews. I have read that phantom power will have no effect on a balanced dynamic mic, but I am more worried about possible damage to the camera. Can I plug it directly into my camera without fear of causing damage?

Just turn the phantom power off when using dynamic mics.

usially dont have to - "usially" dont work every time :)
