Bag or Case

Can anyone suggest a good bag or case for the dvx100b? Does anyone have a preference as to which way I should go?

Thanks.

Go with a backpack. Do a search on the forum, a lot of them out there. I prefer the Kata 502B.

I can second the backpack vote.

In fact it was tbanucci's advice that got me thinking about backpacks a while ago. I did my research and went for the Kata HB 207 which isn't as big but is an outstanding bag - pockets everywhere and built like a bulletproof vest.

I love it.

I'm thinking about getting the Kata HB 207 too and I haven't even gotten my camera yet. It seems to be the best out of the bunch if you're looking to be mobile and hands free when traveling. But I'm not sure if there is a new version. I noticed a KATA HB 207T on BH's site.

if you check the website,

it's the same bag I have. I don't think there is a new one. The other thing to know, which you may already know, is that it also comes with a nice tripod holder which straps to the back and allows you to really go mobile. I have a Miller SOLO tripod which fits it nicely. I will say though, that if you use the DVX100 mic mount, it sticks up too high to close the bag. I actually wound up attaching it upside down and then inserting the K-Tek SSM into the mic holder. it works a treat.

Check out the new Portabrace PB-2600 hardcase for ~ $99. I just pick on up and I'm using it for the HVX and am alittle surprised how nice it is. Have used Portabrace for many softcase applications and love'em. They also have a few different sizes. Great item for the price!

I believe that the 'T' model comes with the Insert trolley included.

I went with the HB-205 for $199.99 at B&H. When I got back to my office, my DVX100b was waiting for me. All around it's been like Christmas today. I also got an Impact white/gold reflector for $16.99 while I was there. I can't wait to get started!
