Bag for Audio gear?

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone had and advice regarding a bag for all of my audio gear. I'd love it to be able to carry my camera gear as well and It should be a backpack....and also perhaps the moon on a stick!?

Anyway. The gear: Sennheiser 416
Rycote windshield kit 4
Boompole
Xlr cables
(SD 302 soon)

C100
5x Lenses
Macbook + Charger
Loupe
Tripod + Monopod (im not worried about these being in the bag but external straps for them would be a bonus)

I'm not sure if this is a stupid question/request so please go easy on this newb

That seems like too much stuff for one bag. Maybe a Storm case, with wheels? I have the iM 2950 and I like it a lot.

A cheap way to carry a boom pole securely is to just stow it in a PVC pipe, with end caps. If you have one of those nice carbon fiber cable-inside deals this might be a concern. Then you can put that in the tripod bag, or tie it on with straps and whatnot.

If you search this forum there have been a number of threads about bags.

Though cute your post didn't really say much about your needs. I would head over to PortaBrace and see what they have that looks right. Then maybe you can see if someone else make something similar for less. Portabrace is great, lasts forever and is made for production work. But it's not cheap. Most of mine I got at good prices either as part of a package or because I knew someone. But it was still not cheap.

So do you need to hike over hills with this bag?
Do you need to be able to get it through carry-on restrictions?
Do you want rigid protection, semi hard, or just a soft bag?
Is it to get your stuff to the shoot or are you working out of the bag on the shoot? These are almost never the same thing.

Thanks guys. The hard cases are something that I want to avoid as I don't intend to fly with it and i need the lightest bag available. Nolz, I can't seem to find any bag threads. Weird. I have a lowepro for my camera gear but I wanted to combine the two (audio/visual) in one bag. The windshield is the thing that is sizeable but needs protecting. i Can always find somewhere safe for the 416 as its diddy. I think I am looking for what is technically known as a 'Massive Backpack'. I may not be the one carrying it but I want to make sure that whoever is has a comfortable time.

Thanks again chaps.

Not really a 'bag' question, but where does one find a 'tray' + harness to carry a small portable preamp or mixer. I saw something like this somewhere but I was not able to ask where the guy got it. This would be for 'while working' rather than travel.

Thanks again chaps, I think I need the Roadie 2 in backpack form. The 'Gunslinger is amazing and i will certainly use that when filming when a pump action shotgun needs to be within easy reach. Laughed. I appreciate the help guys. I'm going to keep looking.

Ok, I'll throw in on this. I assembled a basic travel kit which gives me the minimum equipment to do a very basic shoot less tripod. I use a case similar to this.

Portabrace is nice for this in particular because they have really nice shoulder straps which don't kill you as the weight increases, the bags are made for good protection, and have HD zippers a tough fabric.

This was a case originally designed for a full-size ENG cam. On the floor of the case, I have pieced together an assortment of hook and loop dividers and few extra soft bags to carry the following:
Full-size handy cam hpx-170
Shotgun with suspension and slip on WS-7, fits in the viewfinder pocket on the bag.
shorty Avalon pole with wired grip extension
headphones, 3 xlr cables, DR-100
hyper with suspension, reporters mic, foams
full G2 wireless kit
minimalist grip bag with various studs and adapters, and one superclamp
extra batteries and charger for everything
LCD light, or traditional camera light
white balance disc
42" reflector
envelope with paper work and a notepad, reading glasses, flashlight
iPad which serves many tasks, but a laptop in a sleeve would work also.

I do this and have room to spare for a couple of specific to the shoot extras like adding 302 and second light. You might get a smallish tripod strapped to it, but a monopod and the boom pole is no problem. Im pretty certain the C100 and lenses would work if the lens storage was limited to bags dropped into the hook and loop dividers.

Now I know this isn't a backpack, but it shoulders well, protects your gear, the bag is good quality, and travels well. If you are determined to have a backpack, you may want to look at Cinebags:

You put your tripod or boom pole or jib where the gun sling is. Then use a smaller pack inserted to hold your glass. I used this to carry my Red One when shooting remote locations.
