Bad quality Photoshop files with text on DVD

Hey everybody,

I have problems with the text from photoshop files when I put it on a dvd. Does anybody have the best way to work with textfiles which have been made outside FCP. The text becomes very hard to read now. I made an photoshop file with text and tried to import it in FCP and run it through the compressor, that was lousy to read. Then I tried to import it directly into DVD Studio Pro and that was better but still not really good. The thing is I have to import texttemplates (which cannot be made in FCP itself, because to complex) between scenes from horses. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Cheers Niels

How small is your texte ? Is it thin or bold ? can you post a screenshot of this text ?

Basically what I do is :
- Avoid thin typefaces and little font sizes (18-24 pt @ 100%, depending the font).
- Put white texte 80-90% opacity.
- Add a little blur in Photoshop (1 or 2 point), gaussian or vertical.

Yes it's a question of blur. I apply it directly in FCP
I apply 0.3 to 0.4 for text made on a Photoshop document of the same size of the screen.
For larger images, i rise the blur amount.
If you created a very large text (so cou can use it to zoom in it) you have to automate the blur so that it changes alongside the image size.
