backup project

Ladies adn gentelemen,
I am going to reformat my hd. What is the best method to backup my project and footgae in Ppro 1.5
I have DVD burner so I can put all my project and footages in there. Also I need to backup my DVD encore.
Your suggestion really apprciated.

..assuming you have more than one drive(which you should for video editing) you can temp movthe files to the system drive, and swap them back when your done. or just copy the whole project folders to DVD as you said and put them back when your done.

Just a suggestion......... I have one of those brand new 300GB Maxtor drive w/ the 8MB buffer.... its USB and FW. I love the portability, between my Laptop and desktop. I use this drive exclusively for my video projects w/ Premiere Pro. I've never had a problem....

I agree with brownhood, go out and invest in a ext harddrive. I got a 250gig for $200 and works flawlessly. Don't do the burn to dvd thing. I've always had problems doing it that way. The large files would courrupt or either lock up when I try to transfer it back to my harddrive. Thats one of the reasons why I got an external.
