Re: BackPacks

Check out www.kata-bags.com. The Teddy-2 is a great pack for the DVX. Ample room for camera and accesories. I hauled my gear all over Africa with this backpack. My only complaint is that the "waist strap" went around my ribcage. But I'm tall and have that problem with every backpack I've ever worn.

Re: BackPacks

I have the Lowepro Photo Trekker AW, very good, solid, a lot of space and at about the price you said.

I have the CompuTrekker which is similar but includes a space for storing a laptop. It's a well made backpack and holds the camera and several accessories easily. Because of the space for the laptop it a bit large, but not that inconvenient.

Re: BackPacks

I heart my kata thing. And it has space for a laptop. I have no idea which model it is though, the guys at EVS sold it to me.

Re: BackPacks

I have a LowePro Nature Trekker, seals up to be fairly weather resistant. Unfortunately I have to take the shotgun mic of the camera when I put it in there. This requires me to put it back on and hook it up everytime I pull it out. A little frustrating, but a good pack. I typically carry my DVX, My Canon 10d and two additional lenses plus a flash batteries and tapes. It all fits but can seriously weigh me down.

Re: BackPacks

KATA panda pack, it absolutely rules, and it fits carry on specs.

thanks of course to Rush for steering me away from the Portabrace DV4, which is too big to carry on...

Re: BackPacks

I have the Mini-Trekker and it's perfect for running and gunning with the DVX. It also has the advantage of looking like a normal daypack for inconspicuous travel around the city.

Re: BackPacks

you guys know were I can score a deal?
thanks.

Re: BackPacks

EVS Online, call them, and ask for Rush, tell him you are from the DVXuser board.

And if you gonna use the discount, I suggest you register and become a member of our community!

Re: BackPacks

If you're interested in Lowepro, do a search on eBay. There are a few Canadian camera shops that sell some of the Lowepro models way below other sources. Not sure why. I just bought a LowePro Photo Trekker AW II a couple of weeks ago for $80 below B&H price. I've already used it a couple of times and really like it. I recommend it if you need the capacity. Not inconspicuous though.

Re: BackPacks

Burton Snowboards make THE best backpack - The Zoom Pack. Go check it out. Made for SLR camera's, but take out one side of the dividers, and i swear it was made for the dvx. Rear entry too. Perfect.

Re: BackPacks

Oh sure, for the really really extreme DV user. 8)

I love these smiley faces. They are still a novelty to me. They make me laugh out loud in my cubicle. I should stop...

Re: BackPacks

Hey the cameraman can wear the chest harness from Kata
if the director needs to get good pov shots of victims being shot with real bullets.

Re: BackPacks

I'm using an Apex camera backpack - lots of room, foam fit, rain proof and sturdy. it costs about $100.
