An interesting read. Nothing terribly new, but well written.

I recall when I was putting together very small amount of work in each parts of my productions. From step to step, I've learned a lot and now I know that there's several layers of work within each department. It's a learning curve. We want to get it done quick when we begin. Then, from a short film to the other, we start to take our time and polish it a little more. I speak for myself, as I usually act as a one-man-crew in my short films. Only the music that I don't work on. When you can rely on other, it's a different story, but when you're doing 80% of the work alone, you won't invest as much time and effort as a dedicated person in that specific department.basically what I keep trying to sell young filmmakers on, creating a world with sound.
Interesting article and basically what I keep trying to sell young filmmakers on, creating a world with sound.
Then I got to the end and cracked up. I know Doug well, we worked on a bunch of films together.
