In the past I've summoned the goodwill of other adaptor owners when mine would go down. I can't afford to have two, yet. This has saved me as I've saved others on more than a few occasions. As low cost adaptors are not regular rental items at rental houses, it's not like owning a PS or Panasonic/Sony anything where should yours go down you can get a back up within 24 hours often within an hour if you live near a big city.
I now own an Ultimate. As much as I love it - nothing is fail safe. So when and if it goes down, I'd like to be able to call on other Ultimate owners to help me in a bind as I'll do the same for them.
If you're interested in starting a "back up" network, let me know. The goodwill goes a long way. I know this involves a certain level of trust and expediency so I'm interested in working with those who ideally live in NYC and have some sort of long standing rep as a cameraman.
