Back in town

Hello everybody,

Maybe only the veterans will remember me, but there it is : I'm back in town after a few months away shooting and editing my first film — shot on DVX of course (I'll try to post a trailer as soon as possible...).

It is nearly finished so I can spend some time reading and posting again.

I must say that during all the processes of the making of the film, the numerous advices and precious tips I had read here have been an invaluable help. Thanks everybody, especially the gurus here, whose wisdom and knowledge are far beyond natural human abilities (My theory is that they're alien scouts originally sent here to prepare the Great Invasion but who have met the DVX on the course of their mission and have totally forgotten their primary goal in order to dedicate themselves to the Videographic Truth Quest (aka VTQ)................................... You don't believe me ? Well... Think about it and you'll see there are quite a bunch of clues that...)

Anyway !

I'm finishing editing on FCP 4HD and have a couple of problems to solve, so I'm off to the FCP section.

Woooooosh...

Be happy, fellas. :)

Re: Back in town

Welcome back and great news about your movie. Can't wait see some stuff.

As far as your alien theory, if some men in black knock on your door, don't answer it.

Re: Back in town

Anartiste,

I don't know you but welcome back!

What the heck is burger king? ??? How'd you end up with that status? (scratching his head....due to dandruff)

Re: Back in town

Ask Jarred : he baptized me at a time I was veeeeeeery often here. I'm not sure about the real meaning, but I kind of like this unique status.
Hey, Blue Spider, I will be in Cambodia around April. Are there places I should go (Outside Angkor and all the classics of course...) This is my first journey to Asia and I can't wait to discover your country — everybody told me it was a fantastic place to visit.
I'm quite fond of asian cinema but I don't know of any cambodian filmmaker. Do you know some cambodian films you would recommend me ?

Re: Back in town

You're in Asia. Cool. If you're ever in Thailand, look me up. I'm up in the northeast, on the Mekong, near Laos.

Anartiste - Something tells me Jarred made you do VERY bad things to get that Burger King title. When I was a new member, fresh off the bus, Jarred sent me a private message, trying to get me to "perform" in front of my webcam. Promising me a special title (DVX MASTER), my own forum, and a starring role in his next project. I won't say whether I did it or not, ...that's between Jarred and I. But I will say this, many new members have fallen for his promises of glory and fame. And there is no wrath greater than that of a DVX member scorned.

WHERE'S MY TITLE JARRED?!! I feel so ashamed. ...call me.

;D

Re: Back in town

P.K.

Primarily, we (my wife and I) don't plan to go to Thaïland, but Vientiane is on my way and it's on the Mekong river, so who knows ?

Is it you on the picture ? The buddhist orange garment suits very well your DVX.

As for Jarred, he asked me nothing to give me that title, but I suspect he's planning a very special request now that I'm addicted to my new name. Thanks for the warning anyway.

Re: Back in town

;D
No. The synopsis is longer than the film itself. It takes two and a half days to be read : the story is so complicated that some viewers' skulls exploded during the first preview.
I'm worjing on to get a simpler version, but there's still a lot to be done. That's why I need this trip to Asia : to recover serenity and a sentiment of simplicity that, somehow, has disappeared during the process of achieving this film.

(This is the synopsis of my reply ;))

Re: Back in town

Anartiste - How are you planning on getting to Vientiane? Because the bridge here in Nong Khai is the border crossing to Vientiane, Laos.  ;D  Hey, you might just be passing thru my neck of the woods. Let me know.

Nope, that's not me in the orange toga. Although my parents did ask me to send them a recent photo of myself and that's what I sent. They almost had a heart attack.  Old people are so easily fooled by Photoshop. :D

Re: Back in town

Re: Back in town

Anartiste,

yeah, Cambodia is a fantastic palce to visit. The Angkor Wat is a must see if this is your first time in cambodia. That place is amazing even though I my self hasen't steped foot on cambodian soil since the end of the war in the late 70's. The country is still rebuilding itself. Battambang is where I was born and that's a good desintation to visit. There's so many but I DO ADVISE YOU TO NOT WANDER OFF ALONE. It's still a crazy place, many poor and desperate people and government couruption. Just stick with your group and you should be fine. Seim Reap is also a good place to visit. Not too far from Angkor. They also say that there are more land minds than there are people. Of many of which has been slowly dismantled. Have fun on your trip.  :)

There's many many landmines there. Everyday, someone s accidently steps on a land mine. it's crazy. Playing baseball may be a bad idea.
