My first audio conference :cheesy: was a lot of fun to walk around looking at gear talking to people that I only understood half of what they were saying.

1. I spent a bit of time at Zaxcom. I can't remember his name(I think he is the founder), spent a lot of time talking about all the features of their new products. I wish I had my lectors with me to do an A/B comparison.
I can't believe that, the smaller that a cigarette box transmitter, was an A/D converter, recorder, receiver, and transmitter all in one. Being a studio engineer as well, I wondered what kind of quality that you can get out of such a small product. I was amazed but not sold. I talked to an engineer at Larvy about size and he said that you would have to cut corners for making smaller converts, not to mention everything else you put in the box.
Does this "compromise" affect the quality of dialogue? Seems like a lame dose size matter question but if the quality is their with zaxcom I'm sold.

2.New Scheops DSP super cmit- bad ass. The rear lobe is reduced by 50-70 percent. Great for indoor ENG news work, airplanes, ect. It sounded like a hyper with a much longer front pick up range.

3.Dan Dugan automatic mixer. AMAZING!! I recently had a job where I mixed 10 channels to 2 tracks and wish I had his mixer. I think most people think pro audio work gets edited in post but for the tv show I was working for (being mid budget) My mix almost always goes straight to print because of issues with time. I think I would be highered more for quality if I had Dan's mixer. Keeps the noise floor and dialogue very consistent with multiple mics open.

4. I wish I had more room at my place and money to buy one of everything there. Well except the some of the MKL and other mics.
