Back Focusing the Redrock M2 Micro

Hi,

I finally got my Zeiss lenses today and I attempted to focus a few shots but was unsuccessful in doing so. I took some grabs during a back focus at Z00 and Z56 and I was hoping that an M2 pro can upload some grabs at the same settings. I'm using the DVX if that makes a difference.

I have a hard mount kit, and I'm wondering if I assembled it right. I read the directions and followed the diagrams, but this stuff is all new to me. In the order of Lens to DVX, here's how it is assembled:

ZF Mount, M2 Housing, 55mm coupler, 72-55mm (no name), 55-72mm (no name), 55mm Macro Lens, 72-55mm step-down ring, DVX.

It seems to me that I could eliminate the 72-55mm (no name) and the 55-72mm (no name), but then again, that wasn't in the instructions. Can I eliminate those rings?

I should do the back focus with the M2 motor off, correct?

I'll go reread the manual again, as the tutorial link isn't working...

NOTE: I upped the brightness of the screens for demonstrative purposes.

Did RED ROCK ever fix the upside down issue ?

I worked recently with and cursed the entire time.

Is that an attempt at humor or at least a weak jab at me being a newbie?

If you capitalized and spaced Redrock to point out my error, I suggest you check their website. I also would like to know who would drop $1,000 on an M2 system without knowing that the image is flipped. So the upside down image isn't an "issue."

It's supposed to be back focused without being flipped, also.

Well

Despite your insecurities; no, there was no weak jabbing at your noobness nor was capitalization any attempt to incite further emotion in your noobness

I was asking a serious question:

Did they fix this ?

And making a statement:

It sucked dealing with the flip and having to revert to the monitor that was in the next room.

I don't own it. I worked with it. The upside down image is a joke. It is an issue when filming two dudes having a scuffle across a room.

Is there a problem here ?

(You'd know if I was trying to be funny, because you'd be laughing and if I was jabbing at you. you'd be in the fetal position by now)

Very funny you last two.

J.R., I thought you were making fun because that's the huge drawback to the M2 over using the stock lens. My bad.

But back to my questions as posed in the first post...

To set up the back focus of a 35mm adapter, zoom in to about 20-ish or so, close the apeture down to almost completely closed, and point the camera up close, directly at a bright lamp. Turn the focus ring until the grain comes in focus. Then you just need to open the aperture up again, turn on the motor and focus the other lens. Yes, the motor does need to be off when backfocusing so you can see the grain. I'm not sure on the setup of attaching the m2 because I ended up getting an SG Pro, which will be more seriously tested after finals week.
