Just saw this movie. I really liked it. I think many people here would like it as well. I really loved the stylistic oversaturated 1970's look. I also enjoyed how they intercut real footage from the actual 1970's flick into this movie...gave it more of an authentic feel.
For anybody that doesnt know this is a docudrama about the making of Sweet Sweetback's Baad Asssss Song, with Mario Van Peebles playing the role of his father, Melvin Van Peebles. He sells almost everything he owns and goes into serious debt to make an independent film he truly believes in.
