B&H Verification Question?

My buddy ordered a lot of gear from B&H recently and he got a phone call from them today saying they needed him to fax some old bills to prove his identity. Has anyone who has dealt with them had to do this before?

nope...its legit....

THey do that all the time...

Ive ordered over 150K for my company and still have to do it......
 
Had the same problem with someone else. They wanted a utility bill or similar.

Problem is, I don't get utility bills. Or any bills, for that matter, at my "billing address".

Except for credit card bills way back when. But not even them, anymore, since everyone has gone to online billing and payments.

Couldn't even send them a copy of the online statement, sicen it didn't list a physical address "for security reasons".
