B&H photo bad business conduct

Not sure why so many here are having bad experiences. I order my stuff, I get it, end of story, for me anyway.

B&H is a legit store, they sell a ton of items per year and probably 99% of their transaction goes off without a hitch and they deserve the high rating. But it's when you fall into that 1% that life becomes hell for you. Plenty of other retailers will be glad to work with you to resolve your issue, with B&H it's like pulling teeth. Henry Posner from B&H post on here and he's a pretty nice guy, but it's just not good business practice when your customers had to complain on a public forum to actually get somebody to listen. I've bought a lot of stuff from them and will continue to buy from them but I'm just crossing my finger that nothing ever goes wrong with one of my order.

Well from my own experience, out of the dozens of perfect orders I had with B&H the one bad one was resolved quickly. Called customer service and got right through, explain the problem with the order and the lady took care of it right then and there. I had my missing tapes within 2 days.
I'm surprised people are having issues, I found their customer support to be excellent the one time I needed them.
Of course my next order will now be screwed up since I just cursed myself.........

The only pain for me is they seem to be on holiday every other week.

I thought bashing was considered a no-no on these forums.

No?

There is no bashing, all I have stated (though can only speak for myself) are real facts. Freedom of speech mate!

Markitto, you didn't have any issues when you paid with your credit card?
They asked me to e-mail photos of my credit card since their secure upload link wasn't working and they were unable to get it working (I think they were unwilling).

I'm sure the folks over at B&H are nice in general, but if you have one or two people in customer service who have an attitude and are unable to do their work properly and don't address customers with respect than that reflects badly on the whole company.

Ive had things shipped to me when I was in Japan and had no issue to speak of - straight forward purchase with CC. I did have to do the ID thing as an international buyer. Did it and never had any ramification of that. They were so fast for int. shipping.

I'd rather be beaten mercilessly then deal with B&H or Adorama. Service is even WORSE when you go in to the retail stores.

Firstly, I need to offer a deep apology for any inconvenience that may have been caused to you if we ever failed to take adequate care in fulfilling an order, or if any member of the store sales team gave you less than stellar service.

We are aware that in the past certain staff members may have made decisions or had clear lapses in judgment which were counter to Adorama's procedures.

The Adorama management does listen to our customers, and responds. If you would like to give us another chance, I believe that you won't be disappointed.

I disagree. ....... I've only bought a couple of items at Adorama - their service is even better

Thank you; your feedback is very much appreciated.

If you ever have a query or concern with an order from Adorama, you are most welcome to contact me directly.

I didnt have any problem with that at all. I did it over 3-4 years ago.

How come they are unable to provide a working link for uploading the credit card photos? I would have done it on a secure line, can't be that hard now can it?

Helen, I appreciate your post here, although you're not from B&H. I agree, in probably almost every company there are employees who have chosen, let's say, the wrong line of business.

I am not only writing as a customer here btw. I am trading online by profession and that for many years, that may be the main reason why I'm so upset getting such bad customer service. I know what it takes to run a company, especially in that line of business but I think one can at least try to uphold a certain level of friendly customer service.

BandH is almost a billion dollar company in yearly sales . You can't expect every transaction to be perfect especially with 1/2 the staff being imported from Eastern Europe and a language /cultural barrier from time to time. I have used em with few problems but I don't like them charging my card weeks before shipping an order or back order. My go to vendor will hold the item for me with out a charge and communicates the best he can on the gibberish Panasonic and others feed him on estimated eta's then only charges me upon confirmation that the item has shippes. Can't ask for more that that these days.

FWIW

I certainly beg to differ! A company of the B&H caliber cannot afford to have sub-par customer service.
Humans make mistakes and mistakes can happen, but bad customer service is an attitude problem or comes from untrained staff and that can be controlled, no matter how big or small the company is, period.
