As far as I can see most of them cannot be used in the field, they aren't battery powered. Also, you will be introducing another (possibly noisy) link in your signal chain, it's one more thing to keep track of on the set, check, connect and maintain.

another question.. do all the Juicedlink adapters have phantom power?

The 211 and 411 Juicedlinks do not have phantom, the 231, 431, and 471 do.
