I just got back from a week long shoot in FL with the Hillstrand Bros fromt he Time Bandit. Freakin cool dudes. We had a hoot. Actually managed to crasha boat in the gulf of mexico yesterday. lol The good news? Looks like I'm gonna shoot the next season of Dealiest Catch. I'm pretty stoked about that. The better news? I pitched anew show to em and they are as excited about it as I am. The best news? Regardlest of what future gigs come from this, we all made friends for a lifetime. That's what I love about doing what I do. It's about life, not a shot.

Cool! Those guys are my favorite on the show. They always seem like they're having a good time even when things suck...After watching the making of Deadliest Catch I can't say I envy you going out there to shoot! Good luck and hope you come back alive.

They never stop, man. In the last week we probably didn't get more than 6 hours of sleep. Very seldom in my life has anyone partied me under the table but I threw up my arms in mercy last night. No mas. Daddy needs a salad and some water!

I have some friends who shoot / deck produce Deadliest Catch for Original P. They love it, you'll have a blast with these guys.

Up until this last season, Andy and Jonathan seemed pretty cool, but the way they ran most of the last season as their own personal version of "Weakest Link" was kind of bizarre. I was like, Jesus, after all the years you've been doing this, why string all the crew along like that? Don't you already know who to get rid of? Maybe it's just my Norwegian ancestry talking, but I'm a Northwestern kind of guy, I guess... :)

That said, I certainly wouldn't turn down a chance to buy any of those guys a round or two.

And like Batutta alluded to, did you watch that behind the scenes show a couple weeks back? And if you did, are you frickin' crazy? Not only do you stand a better than average chance of barfing yourself to death, but the worst thing is--they're gonna make you shoot with a Sony!!!! :Drogar-Evil(DBG):

Wow. Stay warm and dry.

Well, as warm and dry, as possible.

Try not to get washed overboard.

I'll think of you the next time I eat crab.

Alot of the time bandit fans wont have the opp. as some us to meet and get to know Capt, John and Andy!!! Read the post on the Documentary request!!! any thoughts!!! thanks becky!!!

Those L.A. camera guys could barleydo it!!

Those L.A. camera guys could barleydo it!!

watching after the catch, makes you wonder if anyone is tough enough to film on the bering seas! Why they used L.A. guys~~~ not being prej. or anything like that but what experiences did they have before getting on a f/v. maybe riding a few Cal. surfer waves!! it doesnt compare!!
What are the qualifications??? :huh::huh:

Thats about it. That's how I got the gig, anyway. Johnathan saw an adrenaline junkie in me, we hit it off and he requested me to the production company. I'm excited about it. Other than being cold and missing my family for 3 months, it'll all be fun to me. It's not like I'll be hangin off the edge of the boat to get extreme shots like I usually do. The elements are extreme enough without me pushing it. I only intend on doing one season. After that, we'll be venturing into a series of our own (hopefully, anyway) and I'll be in Original Productions' freelance rolodex for all of their other shows... many being a perfect match for how and what I shoot.
