Awesome software!

Anyone play with Vue 6? I couldn't believe how easy it is to use. It's incredibly intuitive, unlike most 3d programs I've tried using, and the lighting effects it creates are amazing, totally photorealistic. I did this landscape shortly after opening the program, and it only took me about twenty minutes to sculpt and render--

That's really cool! Very nice lighting/textures and I like the yellow green tint. If animations are as user friendly, (or even for stills) could be quite a boon to low budget landscape matte shots.

Did you light the person manually? Just curious - the shadow is displaced.

The movie on their site is incredible!

That's a good question. Out of curiosity, what's your background in 3d software? Are you a professional user or a dabbler? :)

I added the person, a green screen element, afterwards in Final Cut. The animations use a pretty standard keyframe interface, so if you're at all familiar with using them in Final Cut or After Effects, it's easy to use. Takes a while to get the hang of flying the 3d camera though, not the interface, just the control. What's great is the program has tons of pre-made atmospheres, scenes and models, so making a landscape is as easy as pushing a few buttons and waving a brush.

I'm an editor. I don't even dabble in 3d and have only a working knowledge of After Effects. I was just looking for something to make a few quick landscapes with. And yes, I did that in the first 20 minutes.

Sounds like me :) Well, awesome job and now I'll definitely check the program out. Post anything else you come up with!

Which version of Vue are you using? There looks to be several versions (Vue 6 Easel, Vue 6 Esprit, Vue 6 Pro Studio, and Vue 6 Infinite).

Lets not foget "Pirates of the Car...." was also done use Vue as well as some Discovery Channel stuff.

Good program, I've used the standalone a while back, found it rather slow, so now I'm getting the 3ds max plugin "Vue extreme 6" instead.
