...and a site packed full of time-wasting bullshittery!
www.artfulwriter.com
While the main page is essentially a blog about the business life of a screenwriter (mostly penned by Craig Mazin of "Scary Movie" and other spoof flick fame) there are guest writers who pop in constantly.
There is a button for the FORUM in the upper right hand corner that I wholey recommend. This is where I spend a majority of site time. The players there are your normal aspiring types, but they're not dreamers. Mostly people who agree that screenwriting is a talent-based profession. Really good crowd.
The jewel of the forums are the multiple "Ask a Pro" threads, where professional screenwriters of movies and shows like "Oceans 13, Wanted, Cliffhanger, South Park, Numbers, and the National Treasure series) answer questions, and a lot of times pop up in chat to bullshit. It's an awesome community full of good advice.
It's definitely a well-kept secret, but I like you people, so I won't be stingy.
This is a stupid ad or anything, just my personal endorsement. The site's free and beats the hell out of Zoetrope and Triggerstreet.
Go check it out, and tell them Rod sent you. You might get a free laugh and maybe even some pity.
