If that sound goes with that car then I'm lost... I don't think that guy broke 75mph.

With the soundtrack you'd think he was doing 110+... and I think that's what they want you to feel.

Any guy with a 1000cc crotch rocket can give you video of 175+... and THAT will freak you out.

it doesnt, suposadly the audio was dubed from a ferrari...the actual car used in the video is a mercedes. thats what wikipedia says anyway.

Also,

well it is kinda stupid to noob someone for posting somethign thats been made 30 years ago........

Haha joking... i take my noob brand and walk away slowly, crying.

take it easy on Timur, he's from Brooklyn, they don't get out much. And when they go on vacation, they go to NoobneyLand in Orlando.

just kiddin' dawg.

I got to see this video some months ago for the first time.
Besides the great idea and the fact that's it's quite amazing how many laws the driver manages to violate in this film, I quickly convinced myself that probably the soundtrack was fake or heavily altered in pitch or some like that.

after about half an hour spent on google earth reconstructing the path in paris, and measuring distances and times, i got to the conclusion that his top speed was around 145-150kph (roughly 90mph).
It's supposed to be a ferrari but the gear/revs/speed you hear in the audio just dont match reality.

at the time the director Claude Lelouch was arrested and the police tried to get from him the name of the driver. he never told them. it was suspected to be a formula 1 driver of the time (either Jacques Lafitte or Jacky Ickx) who was really close to the director. Yes, driver of that time were actually fun people, not these robotized standard sponsor-driven current drivers.

Anyway i have a bunch of friends who could do something real and possibly more fun nowadays. too bad streets are way more crowded than then, even at 5am (supposed time of the shooting of that film)

a great film anyway

Andrea
