Awesome After Effects Instructional

I have been filming and editing for a few years now and was sort of hitting a wall when it came to adding some really nice effects to my work. ...I tinkered with After Effects for just a bit but found it very tough to create something quickly due to a bit of a learning curve. ...well, it became nessesary to learn it and after searching and searching for info I found Andrew Kramers tutorials.

Now I don't know him personally but for anyone looking to add really excellent effects to your project you really need to give his stuff a shot. ....also gives you a lot of good insight on how a complex effect is put together.

I picked up his DVD Serious Effects and Compositing....and I think it's awesome! ....there may be advanced users that may already know some of these techiniques but I sure as hell didn't and I'm already seeing myself getting to the point of actually creating cool comps in After Effects as apposed to trying to learn the app.

one of the main things I like is the fact that Andrew actually seems to have fun with the lesson and I find them even entertaining. ....good to see creative people with a warped sense of humor!

note to Andrew if you read this:
As you can tell most DVXusers are focusing on Film....I like that fact that you create tutes that can be used for day to day jobs but also for film. ... keep cranking these things out, I'm looking forward to the next DVD.

I also purchased Andy's DVD and it is GREAT. They are very easy to follow and he explains everything. I check his site www.videocoilot.net and creeative cow for new stuff of his often. I would recommend his DVD's to anyone hwo wanted to learn After Effects.
 
his stuff is great. i bought one a while ago but haven't had the time to train with it. also the fact that he works in a pc environment bothered me a little but i guess it makes little difference.

p.s. being a mac addict i wouldn't expect to see a starbucks plug in his avatar. at least not where i am from.
i don't mean any bad vibes but i get sick to my stomach when people say ignorant things.

I thank you and all the others on the cow for all your efforts that let an amateur like me believe.

I am reminded of the scene in Ronin where the weapons guy asks what kind of gun Sam uses. He says "I dunno, it's a tool. It's a tool you use to get the job done".


Same as a computer.
