Awards Slideshow...

I know there is a way to do this, help me out.
I want a quick way to do this though!

What I need is a military slideshow where there is this one commander that is giving out awards and we took pictures through the years of that. We want over 200 pictures to go across 20 seconds and we want the commander to be positioned in the exact same spot, like we atleast want his head to be in the exact same spot. I know I did a new placeholder and then replaced footage with a JPEG sequence in Alphabetical order but that just put the pictures in a little placeholder and I cant move the actual pictures now so his head is in the same spot on each picture, plus I couldn't figure out how to make it span over exactly 20 seconds. Can someone help me with this?

Thank you. I know I can do it the long way, I just need the short way cause we will probably be doing it for other people as well.

Each shot needs to be 3 frames. That will give you the 20 seconds.

As for the other...

I'm working on that. I did something like that where I used grids. You won't need grids, but it did allow me to add photos and move them around etc.

Another option...

Stack them ALL up across all twenty seconds
Start at the top and end
Come back 3 frames and cut inpoint of first layer
next layer
back up 3 frames
cut inpoint
etc

When done... it will shoot up bottom to top three frames each

Oh -- you COULD make it all one frame or 10 frmes and then speed change it later.

Good luck, Skettalee!

No I dont want to have to do it that way is what im saying. I want the quick way out by doing a quick image sequence that I can still edit the position of each picture. I already know a quick way to make his head in the same place just buy adding a POINT layer over all and just make sure his head is in that point. But if I do an image sequence it shows up likes its only one video and I cant edit each picture.

I dont want to stack all those images in there and have to manually set it all 3 seconds. Too much time. I want something I can do in under 5 minutes. Cause I know the positioning of the pictures is gonna take a good bit of time in itself.

do it in premeire if you have it. and set the default time for a still image to 3 frames (if you can) it may only do seconds. anyway then just drag all the photos from the project bin to the timeline at once. this will keep the order from the project bin.. so name them or order them in the order you want them to appear.. by date or name or whatever.. then once the pics are on the timeline. you can move the layer right in the monitor window just like in AE. so use your dot overlay. to line the heads up to, and then just go through the timeline and position each layer in the monitor window so the heads line up.

.. then, if you cant set the default still image duration to 3 frames (not at my editing cop to check right now.. sorry) you can create a virtual clip of the duartion of all the pics, and then do a speed rate change on the virtual clip to 20 secs. if you dont know how to do virtual clips.. just export the timline and then reimport as a single clip and do a speed rate change so the total duration is 20 secs. should only take a sec to do everything but lining the faces up .. that will take as long as it takes you. but the other stuff should be less than 5 min

Sorry man, I posted this in the AE Forum cause thats what Im using. I dont have premiere. Who in their right mind would use it? Just kidding, dont want to get in a NLE debate. I got Avid Xpress Pro though. But I want to get this done in AE cause I know its possible.

nuts.. it would be way faster in PPRO (which by the way uses alot of the same engine and interface as AE) than using AE.

There is a way in AE to make an image sequence in a composition some how. We just dont have premiere and im not gonna go bootleg ppro here at work just to get this one thing done. Does anyone else know how to do it in AE?

How about to slow down footage? I have it right now at 6:21 and maybe i can deal with just making that slower to be 20:00

eh?

Image Comp

Image Comp

1.Select all your pics in AE under the "bin" area.

2. Drag them to the bottom of that box to the icon tha looks like a square with a check mark in it.

3. Then a box will pop up and ask you to make a Sequence and how you want it. IT will also ask you how long you want the pics and if you want them to overlap and such...

Hope this helps, I'm not that great at explaining things...

Yeah you know what that is the simplest crap huh? HAHA. I figured it out a bit ago today actually and already finished the project. Just made that sequence with 3 frame images and put a TEXT of "X" and just aligned his right eye in the center of it on each picture and then did a new comp with that comp in it cropped so it looks like a smaller video in a movie house with people watching. Came out good. Too bad it takes long to use the Morph feature so they all look like each picture morphs into the next. That would rock but the guy just aint that cool to take all that time out to do that work.
