Awakenings

I don't know how many of you have seen this movie. It was made in 1990 I believe. Robert Deniro and Robin Williams star. I just finished watching it. This film has jumped to my top 20 films of all time, it was simply incredible... one of the most touching, stirring films I've ever seen. I cried many times throughout the film, and it totally drew me in... If you haven't seen this, go rent it, or Netflix it today!

Yes, I cried...

Actually I do cry often watching movies, but this one for the last 25-30 min. just had that consistent tear in the eye feeling... it really and truly drew me in.

When I saw Awakenings, it reminded me of Charly, in a way.

ROFLMAO.

I thought I was the only one who had some emotional "issues" with that film.

You two are not alone.
Then again, I saw 'Bill' as a kid... haven't really thought about going back to watch it again.

As far as Awakenings goes... fascinating story, which was a bit embellished from real life, but hey, I suppose you can't blame them for taking liberties for the sake of drama.
It is a movie after all.

This film came on every single day when I first got HBO back in the early 90's. Then when HBO stopped playing it Showtime or Cinemax would show it. I got sick of it pretty damn quick. Though looking back on it both DeNiro and Williams give strong performances.

I actually watched Awakenings in one of my high school classes, years ago, can't remember witch though. Great movie.
