Avid&P2 Mxf files?

We have captured 3 casettes of footage which are shooted with Sony HD-Cam,as far as post guy said he captured the files with Avid Meadi Composer 3.0 as mxf.So when we bring the mxf files to AE, AE does not want to like them,it accepted files but program crashed.
After some search,we saw on a forums that, the mxf files which are created by avid and the ones created by p2 cameras are different. They have codec difference.Like, when you export mxf from premiere timeline, and avid does not recognise them...So actually there are many different mxf files around?

Is this thrue?Does anyone experienced with this issue?

Thanks in advance..

I believe that MXF files created by Avid are exactly like MXF files created by p2 cameras - I've been able to drag the p2 MXF files straight to my Avid media drive and the Avid recognizes them.

After Effects Cs3 and above recognizes MXF files. But you need to be running After Effects on an Intel Mac or a PC.

The difference is between Sony's MXF files and everyone else's MXF files. They're not the same, even though the whole intent of MXF is that they would be.

yes all the things you have write on the top is right, but i think you missed smthng.
In my theory if mxf file orginally created by avid for the first time then adobe programs niether AE nor premiere doesnt want to recognise, actually recognize but doesnt want to work with nativelly and both programs crashes.

But if the mxf file created by any p2 system for the first time then its allright for both NLE or adobe series...
