.AVI in FCP and Quicktime

Two Qustions:

How can I import .AVI files into Final Cut Pro?

Where can I download a free plugin for Quicktime to play .AVI files (I used to have it but forgot how I obtained it)?

When I use .avi files, I just bring it in like I bring in a .mov file. My experience has been that FCP treats the .avi clip just like the .mov clip.

If you're using Quicktime Pro, you can export the .avi file as a Quicktime movie.
