AVI file on timeline, but it does not render to file

I have an AVI file in my Vegas 8.0 timeline, which I am rendering to another AVI file, but its missing after the render ?!?!? No error messages, its just missing...audio is fine. I can see it fine in the timeline.

It ONLY happens when the avi file is time compressed, ie playback rate is greater than the undersample rate..its OK if playback rate is 1.0

What am I missing ??
