AVerMedia - C875 Live Gamer Portable as an alternative to P2 cards and FireStore?

For the HVX200. I haven't tried this yet, but if you look at the specks on it. You will see that it accepts component (RGB) input and records in a decent H264 MP4 codex to a built-in SD memory card. The only hassle is providing the USB power.
Has anyone thought about this, or already done it?
What do you think? The firestore is so stupid. This thing is light and cheap
 
Well I guess I will reply to myself. I received my AVerMedia unit today. It works, but the only thing that bothers me is the sharpness of the picture leaves a bit to be desired. In PC free mode its supposed to be 720P and it is but its just not crisp.
But for general news gathering, its fine. I got mine for 119 dollars. You get hours of recording! A cheap solution to P2 cards.
I am continuing to test it, very promising.
