AVCHD Viewer with Timecode

I hope I am posting this in the correct spot. We have several Panasonic HMC-150's and AG-AC160's. Is there any sort of software download for viewing the AVCHD clips that will also show the actual timecode of the clip? The only ones I have seen to play AVCHD just has each clip starting at 00;00;00;00. I was hoping that there was something that would just see the "PRIVATE" folder and be able to read all the associated data and be able to join spanned clips. Up until this point when a client wants to pick out footage off site I have just burned timecoded DVD's for them to view. But I can only imagine that by now there is something out there that I can have clients download that will play the clips and show actual running timecode. I am on a PC by the way.

Thanks for any and all help.

Can an Admin please move this to the software section. I thought I had scrolled all the way to the bottom but obviously I missed it and this is not the correct section for this question.

Thanks
Phil

No one has a viewer that will show timecode?

How do you have clients view footage prior to editing?

Thanks
Phil

If I feel I need time code on footage that a client is reviewing I'd burn the time code on before giving it to them. Yes it's a hassle, and takes time, but that's how it goes.

I'm not aware of anything outside an NLE that will show timecode as it plays.

So do you just burn time coded DVD's or do you burn individual clips (each clip from the camera) individually? If you do individual clips what do you use? I considered doing it as individual clips but in this particular job they have 4 16gb cards of footage, and between 50 and 200 clips on a card. If I was going to do that in Premiere it would take me for ever. I was hoping that AME (Adobe Media Encoder) had a way to do it, but if it does I could not find it.

Thanks for the reply!

Phil

It's something easily done in Apple's Compressor but alas Adobe Media encoder can't do this. You need to dump it all to a Premiere Pro sequence and add a timecode overlay. Not ideal, but at least it works.
