AVCHD to ProRess to SD DVD looks worse then HDV to ProRess to SD DVD.

When I transcode my AVCHD footage into ProRess with L&T in FCP CS3 and send the 1080i50 ProRess sequence to Compressor for making a Best Quality SD DVD. The quality is worse (more artifacts) then when I used HDV material for making an SD DVD.

Is this because the AVCHD to ProRess to Mpeg2 conversion, is a badder then HDV to ProRess to SD DVD conversion?

Both mine ProRess files look good, only the Mpeg2 from the original AVCHD codec looks worse?

I tried a few different converters, but still all the DVD's looks lousy.

Please can someone help me on this matter?

I'm a little confused by this. AVCHD cannot be MPEG-2, so you'll have to clarify that one...

He is saying when his AVCHD finally makes it on DVD (ie the MPEG2 he mentions) it looks bad.
Blame it on compression and transcoding. do a google and you'll see a lot a people complaining about HD--> SD for DVD transcoding.
