AVC Sony and AVC Main Concept in Vegas "pro" 10

Could somebody explain what is goin on?
When I render AVC Sony to AVC Sony or AVC Main Concept files, rendering is very slow. No matter using CPU, GPU or auto. Uses only 10-30% of CPU power.
When I render AVC Main Concept files to AVC Mainconcept, rendering uses almost 100% of power of my 6 core Intel Extreme CPU which means it is very fast :)
Same thing is when render AVC Sony to MPEG 2 (slow).
All files 1080i
It looks like AVC Sony codec slows calculations/cannot use whole power of CPU.
Is there any way to speed up AVC Sony render?
Second question is: which HD file format is the most stable. AVC files make Vegas very unstable.
I couldn't finished my 2,5 hour project. Hangs with every move. Short project handle qite well. Longer projects are disaster.
It could be better to use intermediate codec for over 1,5 hour projects, but which one?

I use Cineform. Works well and holds up under multiple renders. It does cost $$.

I'm not seeing slow renders with AVC files. Sony AVC was speedy on my short test. Where is the AVC from? What kind of camera? My data is from HMC-150.
