Hello Folks
As a director I was asked to shoot and direct 3d video for a cable channel.
Does any one have links to good topic discussion on broadcast able 3d video?
I assume it is more complicated than buying a lens attachment
Thanks to any and all who reply
Cheers
Bruce
ps so far my assumption in reply to the client was side by side cameras
and fuji has a still camera and rugged individual filmakers have worked out
thier own systems .One such person is Ray Hannisian.
Any info beyond this is appreciated .
Cheers again
Bruce

purchase or rent the new Panasonic Stereoscopic camera. It is supposed the "no brainer" solution. Or else you can go the complicated mirror rig and take the learning curve as futur investement.
Or do the parallel camera with small cams (like SI-2K) so you can get good result in 90% of the case (the 10 remaining percent, just feed regular video, it was done in avatar and nobody complains)

Then you need to find the good workflow and if you need to integrate it to existing workflow, it could be tricky (or at least it will be time consuming).

But stereoscopic is not different than shooting/editing 2D, there are just few more law to respect.

hello and thanks
Barry Green also mentioned the following
"Panasonic's introducing a low-cost 3D camera, but even then it's $21,000. It's far more than just two side-by-side cameras. I'm no expert on 3D, I suggest you contact Dan Brockett on dvinfo.net, he's just done a bunch of behind-the-scenes and interviews with 3D shooters "
And Jan C .
Mentioned
"there are 3 d groups on on Linked-in."
So the search for a work flow continues .
It must meet bradcast requirements which are either set or are emerging on various channels.
Cheers and thanks to all
Bruce
