Hi everyone, this is Hien Le, the mastermind behind the Extreme :-)

The Letus35 Economy is ready to be shipped immediately. There is virtually no wait time. It can be shipped out the next day. When we announce something, we have it. We do not pre-announce, that's has been our pattern up to this point. It may not be a good strategy for sales, but it is style :-). This doesn't mean that we can't promise on new things.

To compare between Letus35 Extreme and the Economy, here is the link:

Thanks for the huge reception of the Letus35 Extreme.

No one has posted any footage or pics of the economy. I just wanted to know if the Economy solves the high shutter and white background problems like the Extreme does?

Thanks!

The Economy basically has the same core with the Extreme except for the custom condenser and of course the look and feel. It has the look and feel of the Flip Enhanced. The custom condenser will give you extra few percentage of light, that's why we said the Economy registered 0.5+ stop of light loss. The difference is not noticeable, but it is there.

Thanks,

Hien

Does the economy have the red light as well? Or does it literally look exactly like the Letus FE?

Economy Review Pls?

Economy Review Pls?

I'm sure that many people are really keen to see how the new letus Economy model compares to the newly released Letus extreme and the letus flip e.

Can someone who has access to the economy post a review of some sort?

Basic known facts about the economy:

-The battery will be outside like the Flip Enhanced
-The casing is just like the Flip Enhanced
- The custom condenser (only found on the extreme)will boost light around 7-8% (this is the main disadvantage of the Economy, but not a huge deal. The economy can easily beat any other competitor)
-The Economy weighs in at 2lbs 2.5oz and the Extreme weighs in at 3lbs
and the Flip Enhance weighs in at 1lb 7.8oz
-This unit is using a prism, so it doesn't have much chance to get dust inside.

(the above info was emailed to me by the letus ppl)

I'm interested in seeing how the economy performs in low light, with grain, at shutter speeds and different frame rates. Also IF dust somehow does get into the prism, whats the best way to clean it out? How loud is the unit etc etc..

I think the condensor is mainly to counteract the effects of vignetting and give a more even distribution of light.
