Automatically unlink clips? (warning: may be stupid question)

Heyo..

Longtime Avid guy, just recently started using Premiere Pro (2.0), so this issue may have been addressed somewhere, I just havent been able to find it. I'm usually against using the mouse for much, but the drag & drop flexibility of the Premiere timeline is sucking me in. Now, I'm noticing a bit of a timekiller....Is there a way to bring clips into the timeline automatically unlinked (rather than having to right click and unlink everytime)?

I see there's mappable shortcuts to "link" but there doesn't seem to be any to "unlink." If not, is this addressed in CS3?

Thanks.

Bring (drag/insert/overlay) them in via the source monitor (using in and out points if you wish) and use the icon at the bottom of the Source Monitor.

Options are: Take Video and Audio, Take Video Only, Take Audio Only.

okay, that does work for certain situations (and thanks by the way, i never knew that existed)

..but what i mean is taking [audio & video] in thats automatically unlinked, so if i want to trim/extend the video or audio, ONLY the video OR audio is trimmed, not both.

To edit only the audio track or a video track of a clip in the timeline (an "L or J "cut) hold the "alt key"and drag the ends. Maybe that helps you.

Its all in the way you ask the question.

Its a great shortcut and I use it all the time. Same in FCP as well.
