Automate inside FCP

OK dumb question probably.

I know that FCP is not AppleScript-able... but is there any way to have:

1. FCP go through a bin (folder)
2. read the name of a clip
3. create a sequence named after that clip
4. drop the clip into the sequence at the head
5. Do the same for every clip in the bin

This doesn't seem like asking for much! Surely there's a solution to this?

edit: I was looking at Automator but while it looks pretty powerful, it doesn't do exactly what I need it to do.
