hey guys,
i am editing in FCP 5.0 right now and randomly this feature stopped working. i am referring to when you drag a clip within the timeline it helps to align it with the clip directly next to it (the curser becomes thick and grey and it shows with which clip it is aligning). anyone know what happened or how to turn it back on? i have been using this program since last july and never had this problem. thanks

Its called snapping. The quick key is 'N'. you can also hit the button above the time line that looks like a double arrow surrounded by lines. I really recommend you learn a bucnch of keyboard shortcuts. They help a ton!

ah, yeah i think i hit "n" as opposed to spacebar. its on my to do list, along with another million other things haha. i could check these quickkeys out via the user manual or under preferences (i think that is where it is) right? thanks, i appreciate the help
