Auto disolves ?

Need a little help.. Have about 120 photos I scanned and wont to put them on the time line with a disolve between each 4 sec clip. I know you can do this with out having to squeeze each clip together manually. What do I need to do? Cant find it in the help topics. ???

I think it can be done in vegas, but I can't seem to find it in my manual or in the help topics. I"ll wait and see if someone Chimes in with an answer. Thanks.

I'm in the boat with you. I've been trying to figure out a way to apply the same transition and transition length to a number of clips....

I'm not nearly as good in Vegas as David or Gary or Spot, but I'm pretty sure you can do this, I think there's a menu setting for "overlap length" or something, and then you set the default still photo length to a certain number of frames, then you grab all the clips in the media pool and add 'em to the timeline all in one move, and it'll create auto-transitions between all the clips.

Well, to apply the same transition to a number of clips, all you have to do is select all the clips and drop a transition into one of the transition points. I don't think you can apply a uniform transition length to a number of clips already on the timeline, as that involves multiple editing decisions, but you can bring a group of clips into the project all at once and place them on the timeline with an overlap . . . as Barry referenced, go to Options/Preferences/Editing, check the box for "Automatically overlap multiple selected media when added," then in the options immediately below, select your desired overlap length.

Yeah, Just went to help topics in Overlapping and BAM! there it was. Just like ya said. Thanks Barry, David and everyone else. Got to get this done soon. Appreciate all your help.

To drop still images in the timeline and automactically set their duration and overlap, you can set this up in the Editing Tab of Preferences as follows:

Check Automatically overlap multiple selected media when added.

Type in a value for Cut-to-overlap conversion.

For media already on the timeline, there's nothing better than the Gap, Duration, and Overlap Wizards in Excalibur and Neon.
