Authoring DVD's in Premiere: Please Help!!

PLEASE HELP ME SOMEBODY!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I'm editing this project in Premiere pro 2.0. It is just under 4 hours in length.
I created menus/chapters and a nice background for the DVD using premiere's DVD layout options. When I click to Burn DVD it says "Space required is more than 4.7 GB" under status. Obviously I have too large a video project for Premiere to handle. Right? I mean Ive tried different compressions options- nothing works. I have to cut my project down to LESS THAN 2 HOURS in length before I get a "status ready" message to allow me to burn the thing.

Is there a way to overcome this limitation? I thought if I compressed the video enough it would fit. I mean you can burn up to 6 hours on a consumer DVD recorder that attaches to your television set.

Should I be looking at different software for this? (obviously) Will Adobe Encore overcome this snag for me and allow me to author a longer DVD??

Software suggestions anyone?

Thanks!!

I know Encore has it's own compression, but to what extent it can do to write a disc, I dont know...Ive imported projects into Encore which were 10-15G's, and I just set up the DVD for a 4.7G disc, and start the burn. Encore will automatically compress the file just enough to fit the specs and the disc.

I think Premiere defaults to a 7Mbps bit rate, so you can fit less than 2 hours on a 4.7G DVD. If you want more than that, change to a lower bit rate or use double layer discs. This is not a problem with Premiere. It's a general capacity issue.

i use encore & i dont go over 90 minutes on a 4.7GB & i wouldnt go under 4MB VBR 2PASS this is about as much as i would compress, if i had a four hour project i'd go to dual layer dvd or split the project on two discs just for the sake of quality as anything over 90-100 minutes gives quite noticeable compression artifacts on standard tv... for big screen i'd stick with something over 6MB VBR 2 Pass encoding in Encore.
