Authoring a DVD

Okay, so I have a short film exported using quicktime conversion. It now is a .mov, when I import to either DVDSP or iDVD there's an error saying the file isn't compatible for some reason, can anyone help me. I would like to create the highest quality dvd, can someone explain the easiest way to do this? Thanks.

Try exporting it as a self contained Quicktime movie from fcp. For the highest quality DVD, use compressor to encode, not DVD SP. I think there's a high quality 60 minute setting in Compressor. Also you want a 2 pass vbr setting. Encode the audio as AC3, and import both into DVD SP. I read somewhere that your max bit rate should be 7.2 in DVD SP, and the other value (average bit rate?) 5.5.
