August Project

Not sure why I didn't post this in the Cafe, on dvxuser at all, sooner.

I've been working on a project on and off for a while now. It's about converting a children's novel saga into a Television Series. I've been asked when done to forward the Treatment to the authors Agent. Though I know from knowledge that these agent's often go through these treatments, concepts and scripts - and don't inform the author of anything. Until they think its 'Good Enough'.

Now I'm not sure if anyones gone through a similar procedure or project before, but I'm planning on seeing the author at a festival signing on August 22nd. Which is at the other end of the UK. At least it show's effort I think.

I want to know if anyone thinks I'd be going to pushy by getting a book signing, and simply handing him a package, most likely containing;

- Cover Letter
- Treatment
- Poster / Character Art
- Concept Art
- Sample Audio / Score Track

I'd like to think I'm going along the right tracks and doing the best thing here, though asking the expert advice of dvxuser wouldn't be a bad thing I think.

I've talked to the author a few times via email and twitter. Discussed the proposal briefly of it, he got excited at first. Though is now really busy planning and writing his next novel. However, after all this effort. I just want to ensure that I attempt to get a copy into his hands. Just incase he hear's nothing of it from his agents. However. I Will be emailing his agents a copy. As he asked, and they said. I'll just likely do it the hour before I leave on my journey.

Have you guys 'n gal's got any advice for me? Constructive criticism welcome.

Also, what would you put together along with a Treatment?
