Audix SCX-1/HC - a few questions

I'm pretty new to doing location sound and want to purchase a few things for a short film I'm planning on shooting in a few months.
Does anyone have any experience using this mic for indoor dialog? I found a few tests but not many. I hear the input is pretty low and I plan on using this on a Zoom H5. I don't know whether I should get the Sound Devices MM-1 to go along with it or if the pre-amps would suffice (I hear the preamps on it are pretty good). I'm also having trouble finding a windscreen for it as well. If anyone has any insight, I'd love to hear it! Thanks in advance!

I don't own one, but most folks find it a good low cost mic. A cheap foam windscreen is usually adequate for most interior scenes. The higher priced Rycote Baby Ball Gag is highly regarded and available from usual suspect dealers as well as the cheap Windtech foamy. That said, the mic is not recommended for outdoors.. period. Obviously a good shock mount like the Rycote Invision would be wanted as well.
The SCX-1's sensitivity is 'decent' @ 17 mV/Pa . Less than the competitively priced AT-4053b (approx. 20mV), but more than lower priced others.. usually in the 10-15 mV range.
A Sound Devices mic pre would be recommended if it's in your budget. The MP-1 is cheaper than the MM-1 if you don't need the HP amp and/or secondary monitor.

Excellent Summary
I have one & use it indoors along with a Tram lav for iinterviews.

I use a SD 442 - inexpensive - plethora of outputs
(bought a used one & sent it in to SD for overhaul & firmware)
Sennheiser 416 for outdoor work
SD 722t for DSLR records
AFA the Audix hyper - the goal was to emulate
a Schoepes for low cost. @ $500 it really sounds great
& can cover a 2person interview if needed.
downside is that it's subject to handling noise - so it
will live on a c-stand for my use.
