Audio Waveform no longer conforming for a certain camera

For some stranger reason all footage shot on my canon ca10
Never shows an audio waveform. The audio is there and the level is fine. Anyone know why this is? It's just a standard avchd file imported.
 
update:

I just realized the waveform is there but it only appears if I zoom into the timeline about 50 percent. If I zoom out it goes away.
