I couldn't find any topics on this but I'm not sure why its happening...
G4 / 400mhz / 1gb ram / AE 5.5std.

When checking the waveform from timeline my program crashes as soon as i twirl down the box. Happens most of the time. Tough to sync sound with video that way.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Try doing a repair permission and and disk repair on the dirve if you can.
Make sure you have enough free disk space and memory. It could be the cached waveforms have become corrupted.

About a month ago I had to wipe all the drives; 10gb sys, 60gb int, 200gb firewire due to profound dumbness but the audio crashes happened before, and after the wipe. Not sure why...

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, all updates have been installed. But I've added a new wrinkle; 10.3.9 OS. I loaded that yesterday, hoping it would correct the problem. Wrong! Now it won't even play the audio in scrub or pressing the period... Displays an error message but doesn't crash. Also downloaded the 6.5 tryout version and am trying to get the hang of all the goodies. Audio works good on that. Maybe if I eat all my spinach the money fairies will drop an extra bundle on my head for the upgrade...

Thanks for your help.

Thanks surf. I didn't mention that I'm using Premiere 6.0 to assemble stuff and capture stuff and can't capture in 10.3. So I have to jump back and forth, which is a pain but I really like AE 6.5 and hope, maybe someday, to have a universal upgrade of hard/software (lottery's up to 300 million today. IT COULD HAPPEN!)...

Thanks all
