audio video sync question

I am running FCS 2.0 on a G5. I slowly built my system up which meant I purchased audio monitors before an I/O card. To monitor the audio, I run out of the USB port to an Alesis IO and then out to BlueSky speakers. I then added a BMD DeckLink HD card for PCI-X. I use it primarily to monitor the video to an external LCD monitor which works peachy. However, I have noticed that now the audio is out of sync with the video. The BMD card has AES/EBU output but I don't know how to hook those up to my monitors.
ANy help would be appreciated.

You can get a product called "syncheck" https://www.pharoahaudio.com/seller/catalog/index.html
it will give you an offset to bring things back into sync.
Your problem is probably that A) the USB audio interface has a processing lag time, LCD monitors also have some lag time, the video card may have some lag time.

Good ears though. Very few picture editors notice sync that's out by less that a few frames. The DVX100 out put it's audio over firewire about a frame and 1/2 out of sync with picture. I never had a picture editor notice this, I do sound and it would drive me nuts. WE would shift the sound tracks when we got them, but conforming became a *****.
