I shot on the DVX set at 24PA and captured in FCP. I captured the footage 29.97, using the advance 2:3:3:2 pulldown. After a while the sounding is drifting behind. What should I do?
Double check your sound settings. Frame rate has nothing to do with sound sync. The most common cause of sound drift is from capturing at a different sample rate than it was recorded at. Your DVX will record sound at two different sample rates. The default for capturing in FCP will be 48kHz. But if the DVX isn't set at 49kHz, you'll get drift. Double check the camera's settings. If the camera is not set for 48kHz/16-bit sound, you'll have to change that in your FCP capture settings to match the camera.
