Audio Technica AT815R - recommend any mixers?

Well the 815 is not a phantom powered microphone and operates only off of battery power. It is not a bad microphone by any means, but hardly in the class as far as frequency response to the 815b. I would always engage the roll off, and be very aware of your surroundings. (I purchased one a while ago and have it as a prop / dangerous situation shotgun mic).

Regarding mixers, the real question is since you don't need phantom power how portable do you need your mixer to be? I assume you want something battery powered because you will be using this microphone outdoors (as it is not designed for indoor use). Correct?

yep, itll be used outdoors. mind you this is an AT815R, not an AT815B or A. So it doesn't come with a battery cage and DOES require phantom power. In any case, even the 815B will do phantom power or battery.

I'll be having a dedicated audio person handling levels while tethered to the camera.

Sorry, I misread your post and didn't see the 815R on there. If you want the cheapest solution there is a mixer that Behringer just came out with that is battery powered with 2 imputs and phantom power for $75 that also has a little preamp built in. I will look for a link for you.

The mixer you listed on the sweetwater site is a cheap unit, but it will get the job done for you.
