Audio Sync Issues...

Jezus... I just switched ($8,000!) from Liquid Edition to a whole new G5 system with Final Cut HD, and one of the main reasons was audio sync problems when capturing.

Now, my first attempt at capturing audio... the friggin' audio is WAY out of sync!!!  24p advanced on the DVX100a... 50 minutes of video.  I already put the plugin off the DVD into the directory on the system and tried the capture again.

Same problem. Let me clarify -- this is NOT just 2 frames off... it is a good 2-3 seconds off!

PLEASE tell me there is a fix or some way to do this.  I refuse to believe that I am the only DVX user experiencing this.  This should be a very simple process.

Thanks...

Erik.

Re: Audio Sync Issues...

That is how I have it set. Everything I've found -- including Adam's site, only refers to the audio being off by 2 frames. Not 2 seconds like mine. I have searched the web and found nothing. Anyone here: If you use 24p advanced, what are your settings in FCPro HD? If you could take the time to log all of these settings down, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks, guys...

E.

Re: Audio Sync Issues...

Are you capturing to a Firewire drive? If you have a slow system or trying to capture to firewire drives it might explain it.

2 frames sync is only isse with the original 100, not the 100a.
Check 2-pop.com if your sync issues continue.

I've had the very same problem for a while.
capturing to a 2nd internal SATA did nothing to it.
we are talking of sound ahead of the image at least 2 sec.
it's a DVX 100 AE PAL.
I've heard of some people having this problem, but i never heard of a fix to it.
