audio sync after reverse telecine in 24p normal

Newbie to the Panasonic DVX-100. I'm starting as an editor on a doc project that was shot on 24p normal/standard, however I want to output at 24fps. Trying to work this out, theoretically (as I have not actually done any capturing yet), I have figured I must do this:

- capture at 29.97fps, like normal DV
- apply reverse telecine (2:3) to remove camera pulldown to get back to 24fps footage, and edit in 23.97 timeline.

Two concerns now:

-- how does this now effect my sound/audio? In my mind, converting to 24p... would this not put all of my sound out of sync? I've never had to do any kind of telecine before, and this may sound like a dumb question, but I have no idea how sound is treated.

Second concern -- Ive heard about jitter issues editing this way, which is one issue I'm worried about. Will I get horrible playback issues now editing in a 23.97 timebase?

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Sound should be fine since it didn't get pulldown (i.e. each is operating in realtime) Your audio should be set to 48k in the sequnce.

There shouldn't be any jitter, especially if your machine is fast enough to add 3:2 pulldown (go to playback prefs and set to 2:3:2:3.
