Audio suddenly about 1 second out of sync after switching scratch disks.

This might be totally unrelated, but my raw captured footage all the audio is out of sync now. It was working for the longest time, and then sometime after I switched to an external drive for a scratch disk. The audio plays earalier than the video.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be? It may not relate to the scratch disk at all.
 
aggg, I just read something about USB drives having problems with audio sync....is that my problem most likely?

If I copy the files back toa firewire drive, should it be fixed or do I have to re-dump all my footage?
