I wired the priest at my step daughter's wedding, using a cheapie Olympus voice recorder and a lapel mic. It is recorded in mono, but there is an awful stutter in places. With PP2 or Sound Forge, and virtually no audio knowledge, is it possible to clean it up? Here is a sample.
Any audio editor than can get down to sample level should be able to cut around those. Will take some time but do-able. Audacity is free: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
I can read lips, and use other tricks to sync. But this sounds like one of those times where I cut out the audio, and slomo the video to some artsy fartsy music
Hey Wabbit, I solved the problem, but still don't know what caused it. The recorder set at HQ records at 16.0 kHz in mono. The out jack is also mono, and I used a stereo to stereo wire to the line in on my PC, where I captured with SoundForge at 44,000 also in stereo. I tried it again with a mono to stereo wire at 16,000, and in mono. The stutter was still there. So I tried using Windows Sound, and it didn't matter what I set it at, it recorded fine- but only 60 seconds. I tried again with Audacity, set it up at 16,000 mono, but it recorded in slow speed. Super slooooow. I then adjusted the speed up 75%, and it's close enough for me.
