Noob question here... I need to have my project audio settings at 48kHz - 24 bit. When I check the properties of a sound file, it says the project is at 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point. I need to change the bit rate to 24 bit, but I'm not sure how. I can't find anything on changing the bit rate. Can somebody please guide me? Thanks in advance!

PP natively works in 32 bit floating-point for audio. And that's a good thing. You can set that to 24 bit upon export.

You can't change the format of Premiere Pro's conformed audio.

I've never used an AAF, so I can't comment on how that works.

For most formats, yes. DV is one that will work with the native audio, I believe.

But again, 32 bit floating-point for audio work is a good thing. It gives you a whooooole lot more prevision when applying effects.
