audio question: simple but URGENT!

I set the DVX to record 2 channels of mono, one a few dB below the other. Now I'm ready to export to Compressor/DVDSP, and I want the final output to be mono. What do I do about the extra track?

I'm thinking:
1. Unlink the two audio tracks.
2. Click the disable button for the unwanted track.
3. Make sure the good track is panned to the center.
4. Export.

Am I missing something? Do I actually need to delete the unwanted track's contents?

Thanks!

Disable the audio track you don't want to send to Compressor by clicking its green Audible button...also called track visibility button. That actually turns the track off and it isn't exported (or rendered) with the rest of the project. Make sure to use the green Audible button though. If you use the Mute or Solo button it just turns off the sound but still exports. The Audible button is in the Timeline on the left had side. It is the little green speaker.

After you make them a stereo pair they should be panned opposite each other i.e. one to the left, one to the right unless it is centered, then both will be centered. You can adjust them in FCP. If you want to adjust the panning for just one channel you'll have to undo the Stereo Pair.
